Navigating the journey of adoption can bring unique challenges and emotions. We understand the importance of mental health for adoptive families. We have partnered with Sunny Glen and Distinctive Counseling to offer specialized mental health services for adoptive children, parents, and families as a whole who have been affected by adoption. Whether you’re seeking individual counseling, group support, or workshops, these dedicated professionals are here to help your family thrive. Your well-being matters, and we’re committed to connecting you with the support you need.

In Partnership with

Distinctive Counseling & Consulting, PLLC will offer individual counseling services incorporating Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) when appropriate and needed for the clients. EMDR therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma.

Offering a wide array of evidence-based counseling services including play therapy, narrative therapy, parent support sessions, women's group counseling services, and couples/family counseling services that will be available for clients. Many of our trained EMDR Therapists are capable of providing each of these services.

Sunny Glen Counseling Services (SGCS) guides and supports post-adoption and post-
permanency families through the challenging transitions that come with adopting a child. Through individual, family, and group counseling, post-adoptive and post-permanency families will work on developing strong, healthy and lasting relationships with their children. In addition, they will receive psychoeducation in Trauma Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) to understand and practice nurturing attachments with their children. Referral services will also be provided to assist post-adoption and post-permanency families link up with community mental health and social services to ensure a smooth after-care transition. All counseling, psychoeducation, and referral services are free of charge and will be provided in person or virtual by master’s level counseling or social work interns, supervised by Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor.
